In summer, Ramsau am Dachstein - this scattered community on the southern flanks of the Hoher Dachstein (elev. 3,004 metres) - is a sunny, richly forested hiking and climbing plateau with a southerly exposure. On the high plateau, which is 18 km long and 4 km wide, you will find ideal hiking opportunities on 3 different tiers. Meadow and forest hikes on the town plateau, alpine pastures and rocky pathways at 1700 metres, and high-alpine mountaineering and summit trails leading up to over 2,700m. You have a total of more than 200 km of marked trails - both loops and routes from one hut to the next - from which to choose. The Dachstein Glacier is a year-round ski area, both for alpine and cross-country enthusiasts, offering the safest of slopes and trails, plus an unforgettable sporting and recreational experience !
